SCENE opens one morning as Frank, a middle-aged sales rep, and his 18-year-old step-daughter, Nancy, pull into the parking lot of his office. Frank nods and tells him that she said she'd do whatever it takes to help make things right. 'Dad!' Nancy exclaims. Frank tells Darryl to stay put and moves back over to where his daughter is standing.
Looking anxious and agitated, Frank sternly tells his daughter that this is something she must do for him. His job is on the line. His whole career. Everything he worked for. She looks confused. Darryl clears his throat. Frank drops his daughter and steps back. The trio stare at each other, not sure who should make the first move. Nancy is shaking her head at her dad, full of hatred.
